This is Gina, who came to our clinic with a corneal ulcer. The diagnosis is made after an ophthalmological examination and fluorescein staining. In such severe cases of corneal ulceration, surgery is undertaken: the conjunctiva of the eye is sutured over the injured area of the cornea, creating the conditions for faster healing of the defect. The treatment is accompanied by daily eye drops. Undertaking the surgical intervention improves the chance of a favourable outcome in severe eye injuries.
Two weeks after the operation and the treatment, Gina’s eye is recovering successfully.
